Since the dawn of the 21st century, the U.S. government has operated under mandatory translation rules for its documents and services , a pricey option that President Bill Clinton imposed via executive order near the end of his tenure in August 2000.

In essence , the order meant that if a person with limited or no English language skills had a problem with accessing federal services , then that was the government’s problem.

Mr. Clinton’s move ” required federal agencies to examine the services they provide , identify any need for services to those with limited English efficiency ( LEP ) , and develop and implement a system to provide those services so LEP persons can have meaningful access to them ,” according to the description provided at LEP.gov , a website created to help the process.

There is no question that this massive translation effort costs billions of dollars a year … The last time federal officials looked at the cost , during the first term of President G.W. Bush , The OMB fixed it at $2 billion annually … If it remained steady ( Remember , it’s the government ! … More likely cost more ) that would mean the taxpayer has shelled out more than $30 billion !!! …

During my Hellish venture into the Family Court system , I spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours in the ‘ Palace of Papa’s Pain ‘ , eventually defending myself valiantly , I’ll add ( Sadly , not many can honestly make that statement ) …After the first couple of days filing and whatnot … Before I REALLY got into it and was there two or three times a week … I was serenaded by the PA system every two or three minutes with  … ” Punjabi interpreter to Courtroom F … Punjabi interpreter to courtroom C “… 

ALL     DAY    LONG !!! …

That’s just THAT part … The binders of redundant , yet some very important ( You have to deal with all to make sure you have what you need ) information all have to be catered to at a massive cost as well … How much is all that costing the taxpayer ?!!! …

I’ve always said … ALL immigration notification and forms should be in English … All employees in those offices speak English only ( Fuck the KBecWAH ! ) and if someone can’t understand how to get outta the airport and to the Welfare office … They get herded back onto a departing plane and sent back to where they came from ! …

DONE DEAL ! …

You want immigrate here ?! … LEARN THE FUCKING LANGUAGE FIRST !!! … How much would I get catered to if I decided to move to Portugal … Or Germany … Certainly non existent in the shithole countries the bulk of these immigrants are coming from … In fact you’d probably get jailed or shot ! …

You don’t like your country and are ‘ fleeing it ‘ ? … Learn the language first  to be a member of the country that you  ‘ hope ‘ … NOT DEMAND takes you in !

Trump is an Army of One …

Trump’s army is small , with only a few Congressional allies such as Mark Meadows and Lindsey Graham. Just a handful of media figures support President Trump while the rest call him a Nazi , a racist , a terrorist or just a dolt. The remainder of the Republican Party is waiting patiently to stick a knife into Trump’s back when the situation allows.

Republicans controlled the House and Senate for two years. Other than a corporate tax cut , what did they accomplish ? … Obamacare wasn’t repealed , despite endless promises to do so ahead of each election … The wall , Trump’s signature issue, wasn’t built … Planned Parenthood remained funded as did sanctuary cities … Two Supreme Court nominees were confirmed , although the Kavanaugh process was a travesty , aided and abetted by a handful of squishy Republican Senators.

Fortunately , Trump is a fighter. No other Republican could withstand the daily blistering barrage from the media and both political parties ganging up on him to destroy his presidency. Imagine how much more he could have accomplished in his first two years with solid support from the GOP, advancing his agenda and pushing back against spy-gate tricksters?

On the plus side , he holds the keys to declassification and the pain that will bring to many , including potential indictments for conspiracy and treason. Huber and Horowitz are beginning to emerge from the shadows , bringing unpleasant surprises to many conspirators. As Trump told the NY Post last fall … “ I’m a counter-puncher and I will hit them so hard they’d never been hit like that “…

 

On the negative side , there could be 17 or so Republican Senators willing to join with their colleagues across the aisle to vote for conviction on any of the inevitable impeachment charges passed by the hyper-partisan House. Murkowski , Collins , Romney, and others would be happy to see Trump removed from office and after some theatrical handwringing and might vote to convict on any bogus articles of impeachment.

Such defections were not a concern for Bill Clinton 20 years ago , but he was not a party of one ; rather he was Atilla leading the Huns to battle. Trump has a fine line to straddle , bringing pain to the deep state but keeping Republican Senators , many of whom identify with the deep state , from tossing him to the wolves. Trump is interfering with the globalist elite agenda , and both parties would rather see him back in Trump Tower , away from the levers of power. After all , he was never supposed to win.

For his voters , the frustration mounts. We have but one vote to give to the president and only our voices on social media as his army. Our elected representatives serve not their voters but instead their donors , as evidenced by the immigration stand-off. His army of 60 million plus is strong but with limited effect. Unfortunately , his political army in Washington , DC is largely against him.

Yet he persists and perseveres , as an army of one. Despite being woefully outnumbered , he is the odds on favorite to prevail.

Exploring … Out of boredom …

Record clubs (mostly) don’t exist anymore. But back then , you couldn’t open a magazine ( which is a part of the Internet that someone printed out on paper and put on a rack at Wal-Mart ) without seeing an ad for the Columbia House record club. Joining a record club was important to me because where I lived , the closest record store was 45 miles away.

But , in the phrase of today’s moderns, I lived in a “music desert” that was far vaster than that. The only radio station available during the day was a local AM station that alternated between 1890’s country hits and a call-in show where you could trade a three legged calf for a slightly used left-handed banjo.  Occasionally the station had music. If you picked the right time of day , you could listen to hits that were designed to commit suicide to , like anything Barry Manilow ever did.

Surely there was music around the house ? Yes , there was. But it was the most dreaded form of music on planet Earth :  music my parents liked , including box sets that Ma Wilder had bought from Time-Life by dialing a 1-800 number after a commercial. Yes. My parents listened to music . . . AS SEEN ON TV , things like “ Music Dean Martin Sang from His Toilet While Thinking about Getting Another Bourbon. ”

I shouldn’t complain.  One time Pop Wilder stood in line to buy me Ozzy Osbourne tickets when he was in the big city and they went on sale.

Honestly, I listened to music AS SEEN ON TV, too.  I’d convince Ma Wilder to, from time to time, order the K-Tel® AS SEEN ON TV hit record compilations.  I’d wait the 6-8 weeks for delivery, and then it would show up, and I’d run to the record player in my room to listen to TOP HITS BY ORIGINAL ARTISTS!

What the hell was Dr. Buzzard’s Band???  And on what planet are Alice Cooper and Paul Anka on the same album?

There’s something to be said about ‘ drab ‘…

This is actually not reflective of the bullshit over flowing among the MSM … It’s actually a thoughtful editorial from the Toronto Sun …

There is a meme that has been doing the rounds on social media for several years now that shows various pictures of Stephen Harper with the caption “ Miss me yet ? ”…

It’s only natural that Conservative members and diehard fans of the former Prime Minister would promote such an image even mere hours into the era of Justin Trudeau.

But now it appears that , having had a few years to think about it , a whole lot more Canadians might also agree with the sentiment. They seem to miss Stephen Harper , or at least place great value on his legacy.

A recent under-reported survey by Montreal-based pollster Leger asked Canadians who they considered the top Prime Minister of the last 50 years.

Stephen Harper came out on top , with a plurality of the votes at 24%. Trudeau came second … But not the current one …

Pierre Elliott Trudeau won the support of 22% of respondents. Jean Chretien and Brian Mulroney followed , with the current office holder scoring a poor fifth-place showing.

Only 9% of Canadians think Justin Trudeau is the best PM of the past half century.

It’s interesting to note that the only PMs he beats are the one hit wonders who only served a single, short term : Paul Martin , Joe Clark , John Turner and Kim Campbell ( I’ll note that only Martin and Clark had mandates from the voters … The other two just managed to be chosen as leaders of the party , with no ability to actually gocern or implement legislation ).

Now – as Lavscam unfolds – is an interesting time to ask whether Trudeau will be later considered relegated to the dustbin of history like the PMs at the back of the pack or whether he will live to see another term and forge a true legacy.

It’s pertinent to point out that this poll was conducted a week after the initial Lavscam news was reported but before the testimony of Jody Wilson-Raybould ( Junior would be lucky to score 2 % after all his fumbling of this little fiasco ) …

Leger did not ask what was behind these responses. But it shouldn’t be a surprise that the calm and consistent tone of Stephen Harper’s leadership now looks very appealing compared to the messy ride of the past few years.

It may just be in part that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Regardless , this poll shows if Justin Trudeau wants to seek re-election by fear-mongering about a return to the Harper years , it may backlash.

Canadians look back on those years fondly.

Indigenous woman assaulted at climate change town hall … Trudeau just watches …

A young indigenous woman ‘ alleges ‘ that she was assaulted at Justin Trudeau’s climate change rally at the Danforth Music Hall.

A video of the event depicts an older man aggressively shoving Vanessa Gray , a member of Aamjiwnaang First Nation before she was removed from the event by security guards , while the suspected aggressor was allowed to remain.

“ At around 8:15 pm , there were a series of disruptions from protestors. After two people who interrupted Trudeau’s speech were forced to leave and as he continued to speak , I threw the flag into the air and said No Justice on Stolen Native Land ” said Gray about the incident.

“ The next thing I knew I was being thrown. As seen in the video of the assault , the older white male who was standing in front of me turned around , grabbed me by the arm , and threw me into the crowd of people ”.

While the alleged incident took place Justin Trudeau remained on stage and didn’t intervene.

“ This is how the Prime Minister acted when an Indigenous woman was assaulted in front of him ”…

Junior is so out of touch he completely missed a golden opportunity to stem the tide of poor leadership  accusations against and leap down there and forcefully condemn the old bastard that did indeed assault the woman …

But he’s too much of a wimp for that …

 

He needs to have a chat with tough old Uncle Jean about this sort of thing …

I think I speak for men the world over when I say we’re more than happy to leave anything associated with pregnancy to womankind.

But , alas , because it’s 2019 and apparently nothing is more important than ending gender inequality , there’s now breaking news in the breastfeeding department concerning men.

For any man that’s champing at the bit to breastfeed a baby , Marie-Claire Springham , a design student in the U.K. claims to have developed a prototype kit that will enable them to do it.

Springham says she was inspired to create the “ chestfeeding ” kit after finding out that some men experience post-natal depression. I was about to call BS on that but then I remembered we’re talking about the UK where , in another concession to the transgender community , some schools are now teaching that boys can have periods.

I guess if a guy can experience a menstrual cycle , then breastfeeding isn’t that much of a leap after , is it ? Except , the kit comes with a drug called domperidone that isn’t approved for sale in the U.S. due to serious health risks associated with its use.

At the risk of creating a tempest in a B-cup , how about both sexes just continue to live with a little gender inequality instead ?

Andrew Scheer said Liberal MPs on the committee need to support Wilson-Raybould coming back to shed additional light on the scandal , suggesting if they do not , it would suggest the prime minister ” has something to hide “…

” Previously , it was only after intense pressure that Liberal MPs on the justice committee allowed this investigation to start , and only after intense pressure from Canadians did Justin Trudeau even partially allow Ms. Wilson-Raybould to speak ” Scheer said.

Trudeau partly waived solicitor-client privilege and cabinet confidentiality so Wilson-Raybould could speak publicly , but not about communication with Kathleen Roussel, the director of public prosecutions.

That’s because of the wonderful ‘ technicality ‘ that conversations with Roussel would fall under the jurisdiction of the DPP in conference with ‘ the boss ‘ , the Attorney General ‘, and would result in damaging testimony about behavior of the PMO … Jody was only ‘ allowed to speak from the point of view of the Minister of Justice … That ‘ cabinet ‘ half of her portfolio allows them  … ( Heads up … I’ll warn ya in advance … I’ll use the favorite buzz word of politicians these days purely out of sarcasm ! ) … To justify ‘ robust ‘ dialogue about ‘ political damage ‘ occurring should she speak about the interference of members of Junior’s staff AND the Finance Minister …

On Saturday , a spokesperson for the PMO acknowledged Trudeau had ” emotional ” conversations with Liberal MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes , but denied her claims the encounters were ” hostile ” or that Trudeau yelled at her.

” No , no , no ! … I wasn’t yelling trying to be hostile … I was simply being emotional … You me people … I cry a lot !!! … I’m such a nice guy because I care about you all “…

Caesar-Chavannes told the Globe and Mail that Trudeau was angry when she told him on Feb. 12 of her plans to announce she was not running in the October federal election.

Junior doesn’t care a whit about this woman in particular , he’s just concerned about the potential o possibility that Scheer and his gang could win that riding easier without a Liberal incumbent on the ballot …

Scheer goes on to say … ” I note that time and time again when he’s accused of improper behavior , whether it is pressure or how he handles people in these types of situations his only defense is that other people experience things differently “…

This would be akin to someone saying …” I thoroughly enjoyed our ‘ playful tussle ‘ prior to sex and found it quite enjoyable … I was unaware that she experienced it differently … Isn’t that fascinating ! … Oh well … Let’s move on “…

Former deputy prime minister Sheila Copps is not backing down from comments she online made about Jody Wilson-Raybould that generated controversy over the weekend.

Copps isn’t generally a big Twitter user: until last Monday, she had only tweeted three times since the beginning of the year. But in the last week, she’s sent off dozens of tweets about former justice minister Wilson Raybould’s testimony about the SNC-Lavalin affair.

The most widely circulated tweets had the former Liberal cabinet minister facing criticism of racism and of sexist language, charges she disputes as “cheap shots.”

Copps says that when she wrote of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s feminist credentials that ” Trudeau has not said bitch to anyone. Even though it may apply ” she was not suggesting that the word apply to either Wilson-Raybould or former Treasury Board president Jane Philpott.

” I was pointing out the fact that Trudeau always uses very gentlemanly language , but perhaps be could be a little tougher ” she told HuffPost Canada in a phone interview on Sunday. She feels the prime minister was betrayed by Wilson-Raybould , and she thinks betrayal should be met with strong words.

That’s cuz Junior is a ‘ fem-boy ‘ … But I bet he can throw ‘ hissy fits ‘ when behind closed doors !!! …

” Perhaps if I had a larger Twitter feed , I should have said , perhaps a noun will apply , but not that one ” she said.
