Justin Trudeau’s only way out of this scandal …

By Tom Parkin of

The SNC-Lavalin scandal , now in its seventh week , has led to five resignations and a precipitous drop in Liberal Party support. And there’s no end in sight.

There’s only one sure exit from this scandal. The question now is whether the Trudeau Liberal government is willing to consider it. Or determined to continue bleeding , everyday.

Again last week the Liberals attempted to suffocate the story , shutting down the justice committee and trying to change the channel to their budget. When that failed , Liberals reacted with internecine attacks on former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould and former Treasury Board President Jane Philpott.

It was another failure. The counter-attacks on Wilson-Raybould and Philpott gave more fodder to pundit shows and newspaper columnists—and picked the weakest ground to fight on. According to IPSOS pollster Darryl Bricker , surveys show Canadians are twice as likely to believe Wilson-Raybould than Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

For seven weeks the Liberal Party has been losing a war of siege and attrition. In January the Conservatives were languishing , the NDP was on its back and the Liberals were cruising. Now the Liberals risk falling beneath 30 per cent support , Nanos and IPSOS show the NDP has rebounded to 20 per cent and the Conservatives have climbed to the mid or high 30s.

Against this siege the Trudeau Liberals have no ammunition. If the Liberals had evidence that Wilson-Raybould’s story was untrue, Liberal MPs would have brought it to the justice committee weeks ago. But none of the justice committee testimony has refuted the central claim that there were multiple improper attempts to interfere in a criminal prosecution.

Now the siege is about to tighten. Soon, Wilson-Raybould will table more evidence, including emails and texts. Only she knows what it will say. But it will not help the PM. And it will be news.

By now it should be crystal clear to Liberal strategists and party grandees they cannot prevent Canadians from getting the truth about the PMO’s interactions with Wilson-Raybould. There is too much interest in this story—rightfully so , because any attempted interference in a criminal prosecution is profoundly serious—and it appears, one way or another , Wilson-Raybould is determined to tell it.

The Trudeau Liberals need to stop doing what can’t work—and take the only path that might.

And I’ll interject with  … The key word there is … ‘ MIGHT ‘…

The Prime Minister needs to tell Canadians he’s done some real soul-searching. He needs to admit to making mistakes. Ask for forgiveness. Call an inquiry. And commit to working hard to get back on agenda and rebuilding trust.

Yes, it will hurt. More PMO staff may resign. There could be a finding that Trudeau broke the constitutionally-embedded legal principle of non-interference in prosecutions.

But the alternative is more painful. The Trudeau Liberal government isn’t just facing weeks of more damaging evidence with a loser communications strategy. An election is seven months away. Based on polls today , the most likely outcome of is some sort of minority Parliament. And that opens the door to the justice committee—even if the Liberals continue to govern—investigating the scandal fully, calling witnesses and issuing subpoenas.

Those who are loyal to their political principles know that defending what’s not defendable isn’t just a fool’s strategy. It’s political tragedy. Mistakes made can’t be unmade. No amount of spin annihilates them. The true test of political principle and loyalty isn’t telling a leader he’s always right , it’s telling him when he’s wrong. For Liberals , it’s that time now.

CBC News is takin’ lessons from American Media Leftwingnuts …

Here we go !!! … The Canadian Press has picked up on the tactics of the Bullshit MSM south of the border and are trying to fling various other ‘ scandal theories ‘ over the SNC – Lavakin Case to murky the picture and hope it goes away ! …

Jody Wilson-Raybould recommended in 2017 that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau nominate a conservative Manitoba judge to be chief justice of the Supreme Court, even though he wasn’t a sitting member of the top court and had been a vocal critic of its activism on Charter of Rights issues, The Canadian Press has learned.

Wilson-Raybould’s pick puzzled Trudeau but he became disturbed after doing some research into Joyal’s views on the charter, the sources said.

Joyal had criticized the judiciary for broadly interpreting charter rights and expanding them to apply to things not explicitly mentioned in the charter or, in his view, intended by provincial premiers when they agreed to enshrine a charter in the Constitution.

The Supreme Court’s liberal interpretation has led to things like legalization of same-sex marriage, the right of women to choose to have an abortion and the legalization of medical assistance in dying, among other things — developments Trudeau has celebrated.

In a January 2017 speech to the Canadian Constitution Foundation’s Law and Freedom Conference, Joyal echoed conservative arguments that the top court has usurped the supremacy of elected legislatures to determine social policy …

Trudeau tries to be ‘ tough ‘ …

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is digging in his heels over a decision to limit the waiver permitting Jody Wilson-Raybould to speak out on the SNC-Lavalin affair , just as the Commons ethics committee prepares to debate a second parliamentary probe of the scandal.

With his government still reeling from allegations that top PMO and other government officials inappropriately pressured the former attorney general to intervene in the Montreal-based engineering firm’s criminal prosecution , Trudeau revealed today he spoke with Wilson-Raybould last Monday and described the conversation as ” cordial.”

Several Liberal MPs have urged Wilson-Raybould to clear the air , insisting she is covered by parliamentary privilege and can say what she wants in the House of Commons.

Today , Trudeau would not offer an opinion on what the former ministers should do , but made it clear he has no plans to broaden the waiver he granted Wilson-Raybould to speak on the matter.

” These are obviously decisions to be made by the individuals in question ” Trudeau said during an event in Maple Ridge , B.C.

” What we have done as a government is grant an unprecedented waiver so that a full airing can happen at the justice committee … everything in regards to the SNC-Lavalin file and the time that is in question … when the former minister of justice was indeed minister of justice.”

Yeah asshole !!! … But you only let her speak as the ‘ former ‘ Attorney General …

As both the Justice Minister and ‘ former ‘ Justice Minister , you waiving that ‘ Parliamentary Privilege ‘ is what would CRUCIFY YA and you KNOW IT !!! …

So quit tryin’ to act tough ya PANSY !!! …

The Barr “ Principal Conclusion ” Notification …

william-barr-4 copy

CTH is going to break down the AG Barr Principal Conclusion notification letter against more than three years of background research. Yes , more than “ three years “, is the correct time-frame here. The origin of the DOJ / FBI operation against Donald Trump goes back to 2015 ; the Mueller probe was a 2017 concluding chapter in the seditious conspiracy effort.

I’m going to cite as much background as possible ; however , this review encompasses so much granular history that some parts might be too complex for a person who only recently jumped into the story. Disclaimer : this outline does not fit the narrative from those who claim Mueller and Rosenstein are honorable men … They ain’t.

I strongly suggest you take 16 or 20 minutes ( maybe longer if you have trouble with ‘ legalese ‘ and need to ‘ re-read ‘ things ) to read this entire , well written , line of thought on the summary of the finally wrapped up Mueller Trump / Russia Collusion Investigation …

I know it’s an arduous read if you’re not up to speed with court lingo , as MOST people are not … But here’s an opportunity to ‘ enlighten ; one’s self in that very critical aspect that effects all our lives …

Collusion illusion …

Now you’ll notice on my previous post , I titled it with ” A pretty good summary … So far … “…

Then I went over to hear RR’s take on the situation … I must say … He ( I’m assuming here … ) , has a ‘ flare ‘ for expressing his viewpoint in such a manner that you don’t want to stop reading for a split second ! …

I’ll just highlight a few paragraphs … Hit the link below , or click on his site in my blogroll for the whole thing …

Surprising exactly NO ONE , Special Witch Hunter Robert Mueller has found ” no evidence of any collusion ” on the part of neither candidate nor President Trump to conspire with a foreign power , and alter the outcome of the 2016 election.

Every word to the contrary has been Fake News.

Crooked partisan Mueller knew this from the outset.

So did crooked then-FBI Director James Comey.

So did crooked James Clapper.
So did crooked William Brennan.
So did every Obozo senior appointee in the crooked DoJ.

And now , they’re not happy the elected President of the US is demonstrably not a crook.

Instead , they’re all wailing , gnashing their teeth , and trying to find new excuses to continue the pointless witch hunt , because they can’t get over the fact that they ran a crooked hag with worse people skills than the love child of Jezebel and Attila the Hun , and got their political asses kicked from the day he became to nominee in 2016 to noon EST today , inclusive.

And now the feeble-minded want to latch on to ” obstruction ” charges.
On the dubious theory that a man demonstrably and knowingly guilty of nothing would attempt to prevent a witch hunt with infinite funding resources and unlimited investigational reach from finding out that he didn’t do anything.

Sh’yeah, as if.

If any of this hits inside your perimeter , get a crowbar , break suction , and pop your heads out of your asses :

You’re pathetic , sociopathic , and deranged, and the best use for anyone who wants this to continue is as a bullet sponge, or a suitable weight to test breaking strength on a sturdy hangman’s noose , preferably from a scaffold in Lafayette Park , in front of the White House , for the entertainment of the residence’s occupants , and an instructional lesson to the other residents of the nation’s capital.

Well put !!! … And over to …

Honestly , I was beginning to feel a smidge guilty about my glee and continual jubilation over the general  meltdown of the Democrats – along with their house organ, the MSM – over Mueller’s NO COLLUSION verdict.

But that was before I tuned into Morning Joe to check out their more fair and balanced view of the situation. There was  Mika doing what she does best , looking morose , Joe doing what he does best , pretending to be a conservative , along with a team of impartial journalists consisting of Tom Brokaw , Chris Matthews , Mike Barnicle , Michael Beschloss , David Ignatius and some dour woman from the Washington Post …

They spent half the time wistfully running old tapes – “ Nixon’s last day ” , “ Nixon’s last farewell ” , “ Nixon’s last flight from Washington ” – with their resident historians commenting on the similarities and , sadly , differences , between the two presidencies.

The other half was spent trying to pretend their hair wasn’t on fire by talking about what the President WASN’T exonerated of ( obstruction of justice ! ) and things that were “ still open to question ” – investigations regarding Trump’s business , finances , and inauguration ( inauguration ?? ) …

One guy whose name I forget penned an article for the Financial Times titled Robert Mueller Is The God That Failed Democrats. He opined that Nancy Pelosi , because she had been tempering expectations on the Mueller report , demonstrated “ the sort of level headed reasonableness in terms of leadership the Democrats need.”  Right , lets get more level-headed reasonableness like Nancy’s.

So when I saw how down in the mouth the whole Morning Joe crew appeared to be ,

-Stiltons Place Version 7 1

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, mueller report, no collusion, innocent, trump, treason, msm, media, liars

The Mueller Report is finished and the results are known. There was no evidence whatsoever of Russian collusion by Trump or anyone associated with him. There was no evidence whatsoever of any conspiracies amongst Trump and his people. And there was no objective evidence that Trump made any attempt to obstruct justice , even though Mueller – in a spectacular act of weasel-wording – chose to say that this lack of evidence ” did not exonerate ” Trump , and the decision should be made by the Attorney General of the United States. And that decision was ( drum roll )… that there was no obstruction of justice.

We should be in a celebratory mood over the Mueller Report , but we’re not. After all , we’ve known the charges were baseless since before Trump was even sworn in. Nor can we take any pleasure in the notion that Mueller’s Report is going to change the dialogue in the media or in Washington DC , because it won’t make a damn dime’s worth of difference. MSNBC , CNN , and the roughly five thousand Democratic presidential candidates are already out there proclaiming that this two year , $40 million dollar investigation doesn’t clear Trump of anything. As AOC notably said ( and we paraphrase for intelligibility ) ” it’s more important to be morally right than factually accurate.”

This comes as no surprise and , at this point , not even much of a disappointment. But what does concern us – a lot – is what comes next in terms of bringing to justice the many high-ranking officials , including Obama , Hillary , and various intelligence heads , who tried to destroy the American election system and , failing that , subsequently attempted a Presidential coup d’etat.

That’s the type of thing traditionally sorted out with fair trials and firing squads , although we’d be satisfied to see long , long jail sentences. Obama did a pretty good job of emptying his friends and allies out of our containment facilities at Guantanamo Bay , so we know there’s plenty of room down there for those enemies of our nation and Constitution who no longer deserve the privilege of living on American soil.

Robert Mueller has been inducted into the ‘chickenshit Club ‘…

Special Counsel Robert Mueller delivered his report on alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election to Attorney General William Barr on March 22 [Tasos Katopodis/Getty]

An interesting take on the Mueller probe from Larry Beinhart , of Aljazeera ! of all outlets !!! …

After a nearly two-year-long probe , all Special Counsel Robert Mueller could do was produce an inconclusive report.

” The chickenshit club ” is a phrase coined by James Comey after he was US attorney for the Southern District of New York back in 2002. The title means he was head of an office of over 200 assistant US attorneys. Several months into his job , Comey , who would later head the FBI for four years before being dismissed by US President Donald Trump in 2017 in what some saw as an obstruction-of-justice move , called a staff meeting.

As reported by Jesse Eisinger in his book , The Chickenshit Club : Why the Justice Department Fails to Prosecute Executives , ” Comey asked the seated prosecutors a question … ‘ Who here has never had an acquittal or a hung jury. Please raise your hand ‘… The go-getters and resume builders in the office were ready. This group thought themselves the best trial lawyers in the country. Hands shot up. Backs straightened in preparation for praise. Comey looked at his flock with approbation. ‘ You are members of what we like to call the Chickenshit Club ‘.”

Well , I gotta give Comey points on that one !!! .. But where has HE been in the past ?!!! …

Prosecutors who had never lost a case were prosecutors who had never dared to take tough cases. White collar cases are the toughest to make and there are multiple reasons for this. They tend to take place in linguistic fogs. Instead of money taken at the point of a gun , it’s taken by promises and claims that can be made to appear as merely over-ambitious , misunderstandings of complex rules , just careless , or actually made by underlings.

Donald Trump has been playing those games his whole life in white-collar crime court cases he has faced , as did his father before him , as have his children , his foundation , his company , and his associates. Rich white collar defendants have lots of money for their defences. Money throws enough muck around the courtroom to befuddle jurors and bedazzle judges so much that they throw their hands up inconclusively.

If a wealthy white-collar person is convicted , expect their attorneys to appeal. In recent decades the Supreme Court has reversed very solid white collar convictions and federal appeals courts have followed that lead. These have given very clear signals to prosecutors.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller sent out clear – though silent – signals before the release of the report that he had joined the chickenshit club. He didn’t indict Donald Trump, Jr and Jared Kushner for possible offences they may have committed , like lying to Congress and failing to disclose foreign contacts , and then interview them , if they were to be charged. That would have set up an interview with the president himself.

According to Attorney General Robert Barr’s letter , the report takes the most chickenshit position possible. ” The Special Counsel [ … ] did not draw a conclusion – one way or the other [ … ] Instead [ … ] the report sets out evidence on both sides [ … while it ] does not conclude the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

Barr himself and his deputy , Rod Rosenstein, are much more definitive. They have concluded that the evidence ” is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense.”

It is absolutely and irrefutably clear that the media and the Democrats wagered far too much on the Mueller report.

Government Math 101 …’ Politospeak ‘ = ‘ BULLSHIT ‘ …

” I think there is an indication that they have a higher obligation to observe that even if they are allowed to present whatever they want within the confines of parliamentary privilege.”

Let’s just ‘ mathematically dissect this run on sentence …

” I think “… Means MY OPINION , my point of view … NOT fact …

” indication ” … This one brings in another word that further negates any ‘ factual ‘ basis to the statement ; A symptom that ‘ suggests ‘ certain ‘ a conclusion … ” suggest ‘… Put forward for ‘ consideration ‘…

” obligation ” … The condition of being morally or legally bound to do ‘ something ‘…

“‘ something ‘ … Offers NO specific action …

” observe ‘… Notice or perceive ( something ) and register it as being ‘ significant ‘… Again , ‘ something is non specific , and simply states it’s of noteworthy attention …

So … Question … What has that statement actually ‘ made clear ‘ ?…

Answer … Absolutely FUCKALL !!! …

But we all should know why that is … It is , after all …

The ‘ Game ‘ carries on …

Here’s a couple of takes , one from south of the border and their ‘ headline ‘ conflict at the moment , and the other is here with ours …

Both boil down to the same dilemma … The electorate’s ‘ designed inability ‘ to bear scrutiny on our elected officials … You know … The one’s who supposed to ‘ SERVE and PROTECT ‘ … ‘ In good faith ‘ …. FOR THE PEOPLE  … That would US ! …

After almost two years , there’s still plenty of muck to be shovelled outta the swamp in America’s institutions …

Christa Velbel , a 58-year-old copywriter in Chicago and critic of Trump , likewise was dissatisfied with what was released , saying any summary of the report would be “ suspect.”

“ A four-page summary is not going to be specific enough to explain what was investigated and what was actually found ” she said. “ The attorney general is protecting Trump. That’s the conclusion I’m extrapolating from all this and kind of what I anticipated.”

Claire Finkelstein , a University of Pennsylvania professor who founded the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law , said if the full report isn’t made available to the public and its contents become known only through leaks and back channels , it would be damaging to faith in the government.

Now , let’s switch to the goings on here with the , albeit , lessor in magnitude , but the precise same principle at risk , with the SNC-Lavalin case of ‘ political interference ‘ of justice …

Trudeau said in his view , Wilson-Raybould has been allowed to speak already.

“ The issue is the issue of pressure that the attorney general may have experienced while she was attorney general on SNC Lavalin ” Trudeau said when asked repeatedly about the assertions.

He added that he thinks Wilson-Raybould has been able to give “ full testimony regarding the former attorney general’s time as attorney general in regards to the Lavalin situation.”

This we KNOW is false , as BOTH sides have acknowledged that she was very limited to what she could speak about due to ‘ parlimentary privilege ‘… She could only speak as the ‘ Attorney General ‘ , not the cabinet minister post of ‘ Justice Minister ‘ … Which is where the claims of ‘ political intereference ‘ took place  … Under the obvious ‘ legalese loophole ‘ of being able to ‘ pressure ‘ the supposedly ‘ independent ‘ lawmaker , who is the SAME PERSON as the Justice Minister …

Jody Wilson-Raybold , former Justice Minister , has NOT been allowed to speak AT ALL …

In both cases , it boils down to the same thing … We don’t trust ANY of you ! … Let’s see , read … HEAR EVERYTHING … So WE can decide … Ultimately … AT THE POLLS  …

This ‘ selection ‘ of ‘ murky ‘ statements and evidence is an attempt by both governments to ‘ make it go away ‘…

Neither case is ‘ going away ‘ any time soon …
