Elon Musk Says He Wants to Buy Coca-Cola to ‘Put the Cocaine Back in’

Elon Musk tweeted that he’d like to buy Coca-Cola to ‘put the cocaine back’ in the soft drink !!! …

Musk’s post came two days after the billionaire acquired Twitter in a $44 billion deal. “Let’s make Twitter maximum fun!” he tweeted less than an hour after voicing his plans for the beverage company.

While Musk’s comments about Coca-Cola were likely tongue-in-cheek , they bear some historical truth. ( Of course ! ) …

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, cocaine was legal in 1885 when John Pemberton, a pharmacist from Atlanta, first brewed the drink.

At the time, Pemberton’s recipe included a cocaine extract obtained from coca leaves. He described the drink as a “patent medicine” and “brain tonic and intellectual beverage.”

A 1988 New York Times article on The Coca-Cola Company also reported how cocaine was initially included in the drink but eliminated it by the 1900s.

Representatives for The Coca-Cola Company did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider.

Musk’s tweet about Coca-Cola, which went viral, prompted a response from Rep. Lauren Boebert, who took a jab at Hunter Biden’s documented drug use. “Has Hunter been asking you for favors?” she wrote.

Since Musk’s acquisition of Twitter was announced, many of the platform’s users have tweeted suggestions at him on what companies he should buy next.

One Twitter user wrote that Musk should “buy Fox” to get another season of the “Firefly” TV series greenlit, to which Musk responded: “Some sci-fi that actually features sci-fi would be great.”

Another Twitter user wrote: “@elonmusk should buy the History Channel and make it about history,” to which Musk replied with a laugh-crying emoji.

Twitter has seen huge swings in its user numbers since the buyout, with politically left-leaning accounts losing thousands of followers and right-wing users gaining them in droves.

A good one from Woodsterman …

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible. Not fair to make judgment of this , until you see what the Fire Chief says !!!!

In South Los Angeles , a 4-plex home was destroyed by a fire.

A Mexican family of six , all welfare recipients and gang members , lived on the first floor. They died.

An Islamic group of seven welfare cheats , all illegally in the country from Kenya , lived on the second floor. They, too, all perished.

Six LA , Hispanic , gang bangers & ex-cons lived on the 3rd floor. They , too , died.

A white couple lived on the top floor. The couple survived the fire.

Jesse Jackson , John Burris and Al Sharpton were furious !! They flew into LA and met with the fire chief. On camera , they loudly demanded to know why blacks , Muslims and Hispanics all died in the fire and why only the white couple lived ?…

The Fire Chief simply said , ” They were at work “…

A Very Good Read …

A member of the same fraternity as the wrier  , Spruce Fontaine , I really understood this individual’s thoughts …

As an artist , I first became aware of postmodernism’s canceling influence as I read art reviews in the leading arts magazines during the ’90s. The reviews suddenly were different. Instead of analysis of an artist’s concept , his style , and his work’s success as a visual statement , the reviewers laded their reviews with references to current social issues. In the reviewer’s mind , artwork didn’t belong to the artist. The postmodernist’s obsession with social constructs and narratives meant that the reviewer got to intellectually appropriate the artist’s work and ” write over ” its original meaning.

Here is my explanatory ” narrative ” of how a reviewer accomplishes a visual ” write-over. ” Picture an artist living and painting in a transitional urban setting. During the day , the artist captures , via quick sketches and a camera , locals getting on and off a city bus. Back at the studio , the photos and sketch studies become a finished wall-sized canvas depicting an urban landscape , an immersive portrait of urban energy radiating from busy bus-riders with myriad errands and destinations.

Eventually , the artist has a gallery exhibition. An art magazine review comments on the urban bus painting and how the artist is ” challenging ” the viewer to confront his own haute bourgeois imbeddedness … Huh ?… The supercilious reviewer notes that the advertising depicted on the side of the bus is for things the bus riders can’t probably afford. That the artist painted passengers ” of color ” speaks to the historical propensity of whites to flee urban neighborhoods. That some of the painting’s background includes foothills punctuated with light pastel indications of upscale houses prompts the reviewer to note that the artist ” explores ” the capitalist chasm between the hillside haves and the lower inner-city have-nots. The irony is that the reviewer lauds the artist’s work not for what the artist intended … A slice of the environs where he lives and pursues his craft  … But for what the reviewer can write about it. The art critic morphs into a social activist , and the artwork becomes a borrowed protest banner.

As I look back , the ’90s seems the cusp of cancel culture. Artists’ concepts and statements became insufficient on their own. Art reviewers intellectually piggybacked to bolster their activist bona fides ( their own version of cultural appropriation ).  Artists , their art , and their concepts were not canceled , but intellectually ” written over ” by the progressive art media , which was the precursor to full-on cancelation.

Sadly , artists joined the game and commenced force-referencing those ” precious ” social issues into their artist statements by mimicking the critical-arts vocabulary. What with gender , diversity , CRT and the green agenda , both artists and reviewers some thirty years later are still tiredly ” challenging ,” ” confronting ,” and ” exploring.”  A synonym for progressive is ” mired.”

The vast and valued world collection of art attests to the resilience of visual art under most forms of oppressive governance. Good to great visual art , like music , is metaphorical , less concrete ; thus , it is easier to write over , which is its own protection. Its deeper meaning is beyond words like a still , small voice speaking to soul or spirit.

Perhaps an utter Fahrenheit-451 for all the arts is in the future. To nurture our souls and spirits with truth , not narrative , it is essential that art in all its forms continues to speak to our divine interior selves.

From Grouchy Old Cripple …

Joke Of The Week APRIL 5 , 2022

From Chuck.

I was at the bar the other night and overheard three very big ol’ fat women talking at the bar. They all spoke with a heavy brogue accent. I made an unfortunate assumption that their accents appeared to be Scottish … so I approached and asked ,“ Hello , are you three lassies from Scotland ? ”…

One of them angrily screeched , “ It’s Wales … you bloody idiot !…

” So I immediately apologized … and replied , “ I am so sorry ! Are you three whales from Scotland ? ”…

And that’s the last thing I remember.

Elon Musk Throws Down the Gauntlet on Twitter …

The digital town square is undergoing an unexpected shake-up with Elon Musk taking a nine percent majority stake in Twitter. Ramifications will be felt on both sides of the political divide through the midterm elections and beyond.

Musk is among the richest people in the world. Forbes lists his worth as more than $287 billion. As for size , Twitter’s market capitalization was valued at just over $31 billion the Friday before Musk’s news. A few hours after Musk bought his shares , the company’s market cap rose to over $38 billion. And this is just on the news of his purchase, before any anticipated changes at the company.

Elon Musk , a regular user of Twitter himself , has grown frustrated with the platform’s propensity to manipulate the narrative.

On March 26thMusk Tweeted , “Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square , failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy. What should be done?”

Clearly, he’s not happy with the company’s pattern of censorship, of manipulation , of serving the leftist ideology.

To be sure , it’s probably a mistake to presume Musk is a conservative , at least in a traditional sense. But he does give an indication that he appreciates the American dream , what it has done for him and so many others. He knows that freedom of speech is the cornerstone to achieving that dream.

Wall Street will be watching to see if Musk , who is now on the Twitter Board of Directors , takes an activist role in shaking up the Twitter management team , its policies and protocols , and its algorithms that limit freedom of speech.

A major symbolic statement would be to return Donald Trump’s Twitter account to him , and then to return to other users their accounts which have been suspended …

Will Elon Musk erase Twitter’s censorious ideological slant? – American Thinker

Like President Trump , Musk is a billionaire who’s enjoyed using Twitter as a platform for his opinions. That’s why it was stunning when , a week ago , Musk made it clear that he believes that Twitter , as the modern town square , rather than shutting down free speech , must be a free speech platform … Or be overtaken by competing technology :

Elon Musk
@elonmusk
Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square , failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy. What should be done ?
To show that the question in the poll should be taken seriously , Musk added , “ The consequences of this poll will be important. Please vote carefully.”

As for that embedded poll, Musk got 2,035,924 votes (as of last count) with 70.4% voting that, “no,” Twitter does not rigorously adhere to the principle that “free speech is essential to a functioning democracy.”

Free speech is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle ?
As for that embedded poll , Musk got 2,035,924 votes ( as of last count ) with 70.4% voting that , “ no ,” Twitter does not rigorously adhere to the principle that “ free speech is essential to a functioning democracy ”…

Just a few days later after that important ( albeit non-scientific poll ) , Musk purchased 9.2% of Twitter’s publicly available shares. While that’s a far cry from a majority of shares , it’s still left Musk as Twitter’s biggest stakeholder , a very powerful position. That’s why Musk’s latest ( April 4 ) tweet hints that he has the power to bring about change , even if it’s only an edit button for tweets …

I’m startin’ to like Elon ! …

3 Republicans support ‘ judge ‘ who can’t determine what a woman is !!! …

2022wtfheader-2-1-1-1

U.S. Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney announced Monday night they will vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s historic elevation to the Supreme Court , giving President Joe Biden’s nominee a burst of bipartisan support and all but assuring she’ll become the first Black female justice.

The senators from Alaska and Utah announced their decisions ahead of a procedural vote to advance the nomination and as Democrats pressed to confirm Jackson by the end of the week.

Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine announced last week that she would back Jackson. All three Republicans said they did not expect to agree with all of Jackson’s decisions, but that they found her well qualified. Romney said she “more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity.”

What a joke !!! … They were either threatened or paid off !!! …
