Why are we hearing about ‘ Hanoiing ‘ Jane ? …

Inspired by the climate activism of Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg , actor Jane Fonda said Friday that she is returning to civil disobedience nearly a half-century after she was last arrested at a protest.

Fonda , known for her opposition to the Vietnam War , was one of 17 climate protesters arrested Friday at the U.S. Capitol in Washington , D.C. , on charges of unlawful demonstration by what she called ” extremely nice and professional ” police. Fellow actor Sam Waterston was also in the group , which included many older demonstrators.

Now 81 , Fonda said she plans to get arrested every Friday to advocate for urgent reduction in the use of fossil fuels. She hopes to encourage other older people to protest as well.

Getting arrested in 2019 poses some entirely new challenges , Fonda told The Associated Press in an interview.

These days , ” they use white plastic things on your wrists instead of metal handcuffs , and that hurts more ” she said.

BOOHOO !!! …

” The only problem for me is I’m old ” Fonda said. After her first arrest last week , she had trouble getting into the police vehicle because she was handcuffed behind her back and ” had nothing to hang onto “.

On Friday , Fonda emerged from a cluster of officers and stepped smartly into the police wagon , her hands cuffed in front of her.

“Thanks , Jane ! ” some of the protesters called out.

” What would you tell President Trump ? ” someone in the crowd yelled to her earlier , as she and other protesters stood on their platform in front of the Capitol.

” I wouldn’t waste my breath ” she shouted back , drawing laughter.

Oh STFU Jane !!! … You’re n old washed up Hasbeen Never Was Much … Why can’t you old Hollywads just slink silently away when you are no longer amusing and be thankful you got far more than you deserve in life ?!!! …

No one with a three digit IQ gives a SHIT about your inane thoughts on a damn thing !!! …

Breaking the Administrative State …

A great read found at

The pivot away from America as a constitutional republic and into a country run as an administrative state began in the late 1800s , especially if one looks at Woodrow Wilson’s The Study of Administration , written in 1887. Wilson argued that politics should be kept separate from administration , though to be fair , administration shouldn’t completely ignore public opinion. But Wilson and other Progressives—Democrat and Republican alike—truly believed that efficient administration was a far better approach for “ progress ” than the sometimes messy , gridlock approach of the constitutional republic.

Wilson’s ideas , and other progressive fever dreams , would be given life in the first Progressive Era between 1895 and 1920 , when the progressive ideology took firm root in both the Democratic and Republican parties. The administrative state was born and then firmly entrenched during Franklin Roosevelt’s administration with the New Deal. Progressives believed real progress could only occur if power is consolidated into an administrative state run by an educated cadre of bureaucrats who had as little interference from politicians as possible. They made the fatal mistake of entrusting great power to imperfect human beings , something the Founders , who knew men weren’t angels , wisely feared. Our Founders did not trust consolidated power in the hands of imperfect human nature , thus the machinery of our republic ; separation of powers , federalism , and so on.

Everyone who knows American history understands that what we are experiencing today was almost inevitable. The Russia-collusion hoax , Ukraine-gate , Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation circus , all of the non-stop , relentless attacks on Donald Trump and his administration from the day he was sworn in were bound to happen.

The political moment we are living through is not the usual one. This is more than the corporate leftist media and Democratic attacks to which we’ve become accustomed against any Republican , including the usual tripe about how Bush or ( pick a name ) is a Nazi and the election of said Republican signals the end of days. This with Trump is about so much more.

James Piereson described it best this week at a conference co-sponsored by American Greatness and The New Criterion : we’re used to domestic politics , where the discussions are over the size of tax cuts , etc. What we are seeing today is vicious regime politics and a struggle over who is really in charge of this country’s governmental agencies. The duly elected president of the United States ? Or players inside of that administrative state , along with their mouthpieces in the media ?

None of these absurd fairytales of collusion were ever really about actual suspicions that Trump was somehow tied to Putin. ( Though certainly many Americans bought the story …) The breathless nonstop reporting by the corporate leftist media can be explained by one of two possible causes either they are too stupid to understand what is actually taking place ( a perfectly reasonable argument ) or they are part and parcel of the attempted regime change from the start.

This is all about who truly decides.

The only surprise is that we didn’t reach this moment sooner as a country. It took an outsider—someone not from Washington , D.C. and not from the ruling class—to be elected president.

Trump was never “ read into ” how it’s “ all supposed to work ,” how “ things are done in D.C.” No , he had the temerity to show up and think that maybe , just maybe , we are still a democratic , constitutional republic in which power still flows from “ We the People ” to our president and other elected officials. In response to this sensible and very American view of things , the ruling class and administrative state emphatically said , “ We don’t think so ”…

The MSM REALLY , seriously believe their own bullshit !!! …

October 19 , 2019

A Washington Post headline unintentionally gives away the game …

The headline below tells us a lot more than the Democrat partisans at the Washington Post intended.

After two weeks of closed-door testimony, a clearer portrait of Trump’s role emerges

How does closed-door testimony tell the Washington Post and its readers anything ?… By leaks  , of course.  So a ” clearer portrait ” is being painted by leakers with the agenda of damaging President Trump. There is no pretense of presenting a full picture that would include information that would not support the Democrats’ agenda.

As Ed Lasky commented , ” Pelosi , Schiff & company are controlling the narrative via leaks. This is repulsive ” Lauri Regan said , ” I guess the irony got past the editors.”

And the Washington Post maintains that this partisan version is the “clear” portrait — in other words, the definitive reality.  Its journalism consists of hyping the partial reality Democrats present to it.

A Damn Fine Idea …

The amount of money wasted on political campaigning over the past 5 years in this country could easily have built ‘ The Wal ‘ already , paid for infrastructure repair , and fed all the homeless in Kaliphonia. Hillary’s 2016 campaign alone spent a billion and a half.

I say ban all political campaigning on a national scale until 100 days before the general election … Keep it off my TV , off my computer screen , out of my mailbox , and out of my telephone answering machine. And if you’ve already been in the US Congress for 12 years , either house , your name is not allowed on a ballot any more except for state or city positions.

And if your name is Clinton or Soetoro , you’re banned from government. Period.

And another thing. These are not debates. They are joint press conferences.

I totally agree with …

True to form … Rex Murphy …

Haven’t caught Rex for a while , but it was worth the wait …

Rex Murphy I think we’re all glad that the suspense over the coveted electoral benediction of Barack Obama is over. It’s been a question that has had many Canadians on “ pins and needles ” ( whatever that strange idiom really means ) for weeks. Would it be for Singh , or May , or Bernier , or Scheer ? Who could tell ?

Or , and this was an outsider’s bet , would it be for the fellow who came to earth on third base , blinded by his self-confessed “ white-privileged ” existence , with a taste for blackface when he was a mere urchin of 29 ? Certainly the consensus was that the most highly regarded , even reverenced , progressive in the whole world , would fret a little at tossing the manna of his approval on so déclassé a performer.

But hey , this is politics , and what’s a little boot polish between friends , as long as they are united under the glorious banner of global warming.

It was therefore a great coup for Justin Trudeau to win the cherished Obama endorsement. This probably means a landslide for Mr. Trudeau. We Canadians are notoriously obliging , and courteous even to a fault. So I cannot imagine even the most passionate Scheerite or fundamentalist Greenist, now that Obama has graciously instructed Canadians in the matter of our election , doing other than setting aside their real and personal preferences , and yielding to the superior judgment of the former American president. ( Obama also made it clear , as is his way , that there is no worry — if you vote for Trudeau , you can keep your doctor. )

The only mosquito in the face cream , is of course , St. Greta of the Frowns and Glares , more familiarly known as Greta of Green Fables. She sees Trudeau as a climate slacker. He’s a pipeline buyer , which according to the Thunberg gospellers , makes the angels of the troposphere weep in shame and anger. To young Greta , such is her passion , not to be living in an unfurnished cave , tweeting via smoke signal , and travelling only as the wind lists , means you are a pagan / heretic — and even worse , you may be an adult.

As I write , she’s visiting Edmonton , and it is a valid consideration that the political shock wave from so potent a voice , should she again rebuke Trudeau ( “ He’s not doing enough ” ) , might displace or even nullify the recommendations of Obama. How tangled politics is.

Now that we have celebrity endorsements out of the way , what is the key issue of this election ? It is the clash between the virtue merchants of climate change , and the future of Alberta. The last days of the campaign have shown a desolate tendency , principally from Trudeau , but wholly embraced by Elizabeth May and Jagmeet Singh , to declare with adamant conviction that they see the Alberta oil sands as the Hell mouth of global warming. That if they could politically get away with it , they’d shut Canada’s oil and gas industry down in a moment. And that all three, very kindly , have plans to “ transition ” all who work in energy and related fields — hundreds of thousands — ever so painlessly , to “ other jobs.” Which has to be the most insolent and paternalistic fiction peddled in any election.

Trudeau is the worst. In the most reckless fashion , he gave a speech declaring he wanted “ more Quebecers , more francophones , to vote Liberal ” in order to stop those under the thumb of the oil industry , meaning in particular Jason Kenney and Alberta. Such is the hypnotic pull to be seen as a great fighter against global climate change , it blots out the perception of what he may be stirring up in the country he presently leads. It was Don Braid of the Calgary Herald who spotlighted the ( to me ) strange turn in the French debate where Trudeau made this appeal : “ It’s necessary to have a strong government , full of Quebecers , full of francophones , who are going to be able to continue the fight” against Conservatives who , in his view , “ wouldn’t do anything.”

I do not know quite how to take this statement. When was the last time any prime minister called upon one set of Canadians to provide a fort , a bar , an emergency guard , against the feelings and livelihoods of another set of Canadians ? This is the most reckless rhetoric of any Canadian leader in the past 50 or 60 years. It is separatist rhetoric , in that it invokes the citizens of one province to tame or nullify the valid concerns of the citizens of another province.

To put this in the plainest terms , this is not the time to be poking Albertans with a stick. They’ve had quite enough from the environmental fanatics , and from Ottawa. They have been wound up to the max by the righteous of every political party dumping on the industry and the workers who have been such a boost to Canada’s economy and well-being.

If we get a mixed result on Monday , and it turns out the price of a coalition is a string of anti-oil , anti-Alberta commitments — mark it down , the threat of separatism will no longer have to depend solely on the various fortunes of the Bloc Québécois. The stir out West will be something that not even sweet words from a foreign president or the always charming sermons from the Littlest Scold will avert.
