CNN’s audience shriveled in the second quarter of 2019 , averaging only 541,000 total viewers , less than half Fox News Channel’s 1.3 million average. But CNN struggled even more during the primetime hours of 8-11 p.m. ET , finishing as the fifteenth most-watched network on basic cable behind networks such as TLC , Investigation Discovery and the Hallmark Channel. CNN averaged a dismal 761,000 primetime viewers while FNC averaged 2.4 million.

The Hill media guru Joe Concha told Fox News that CNN’s freefall may not be slowing.

” The numbers warrant concern , yes. Q2 was a particularly news-rich quarter highlighted by the release of the Mueller report and all the aftermath and controversy following it , plus the launch of several high-profile Democratic candidacies including Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg to propel 2020 coverage into high gear ” Concha said. ” It may only get worse in Q3 given the numbers we’re already seeing.”

Wasatch Brewery , owner of Polygamy Porter , was attempting to acquire a license from the commission that would allow them to sell the drink at a bar in Asheville named The Collaboratory.

Ex-ICE chief Thomas Homan’s had enough !!! … Rips into lawmakers … ‘ Do your job ‘ !!! …

Former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Thomas Homan delivered a fiery defense of border agents during a House hearing where Democratic lawmakers just hours earlier had decried conditions at migrant detention centers — as he ripped into the agency’s congressional critics and said they should be “ ashamed ” of their conduct.

” If you don’t like this , do your job. Fix it ” Homan testified before the House Oversight Committee , recalling in graphic detail his own experiences on the job seeing dead bodies in tractor-trailers as he underscored the severity of the border crisis.

He said agents , amid this crisis , have been subject to “ unprecedented attack and vilification ” and “ those men and women who chose a life of service to this nation deserve better , not only from the media but those in this committee and other members of Congress.”

“ As a 34-year veteran of law enforcement , it is shocking , shocking to see constant attacks against those that leave the safety and security of their homes every day , put on a Kevlar vest and put a gun on their hip and risk their own safety to defend this nation ” he said, at times appearing to get choked up as he defended his former colleagues.

He appeared to be in part referring to accusations by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez , D-N.Y., and others who have made a host of allegations against agents , including that migrants were made to drink from toilet bowls. Ocasio-Cortez blasted the Trump administration’s immigration policies and stood by her accounts from the border during testimony earlier Friday , alongside colleagues Rep. Rashida ( Let’s impeach the motherfucker ) Tlaib , D-Mich. , and Rep. Ayanna Pressley , D-Mass.

“ Those that attack the professional integrity of those that serve and blatantly throw unsubstantiated allegations against these men and women with zero evidence of guilt are wrong and should be ashamed ” Homan shot back.

Much of the focus of the hearing was on the treatment of migrants detained crossing the border by the tens of thousands each month. But while acknowledging there was a humanitarian crisis at the border , Homan pushed back on some of the rhetoric being used by Democrats and activists who have accused agents of misconduct and mistreatment of migrants.

“ The same people that vilify border patrol for detention conditions are the same people that refuse to answer the call for help , until it’s too late ” he said , apparently referring to those Democrats who refused to back a bill that increased humanitarian funding by $4.5 billion to the border.

He pointed to the more than 4,000 lives saved by Border Patrol agents last year , and said that it was “ disheartening ” that no one had mentioned that at the lengthy hearing.

“ No one talks about how these men and women bring toys from their homes and their own children to these facilities so the migrant children will have something to play with ” he said … “ No one talks about the sickness of these migrants and how these agents take that sickness home to their own families because of that exposure.”

He asked if any of the critics have attended a burial of a law enforcement agent killed on duty , or consoled a child or spouse of a fallen officer.

Homan upset Democrats on the panel … An ‘ elected asshole , Rep. Gerry Connolly , D-Va. , denounced what he described as “ equivocation ” and screamed at Homan when he tried to object.

“ You’re not at the border , this is a hearing room , this is my time ” he yelled.

Yeah , right Gerry … Actual problems don’t exist in the ‘ hearing room ‘ , do they ?!!! …

Homan later blasted what he called ” political grandstanding ” and urged members of Congress to change the law if they don’t like the current law.

So, TINS©, TIWFDASL© at Rural Community Hospital ED one fine summer afternoon, nothing exciting ( for me , at least: the folks who were here for sutures , or chest pain , likely thought that their dilemmas were entirely more exciting than they would otherwise desire ! ).

So , this fellow trotted in , carrying a crying child. He announced that the child had cut his head. Our nurse aid escorted the gentleman to one of the carts , and started to look into the problem. I tagged along.

Quick witted , she promptly determined that stapling this child’s head would likely result in a net minima of drama and caterwauling , so she plucked up a surgical stapler , and some betadine, and began to clean up the lac.

The physician arrived , and she briefed him on her findings. Me ? I occupied myself trying to get vitals , allergies / meds / medical history on the child from the ( clueless ) dad. Doc began to perform his own assessment , as the mother arrived.

This elicited another chorus of wailing , tears , and general drama. Predominantly from the child , although the mother contributed her own share. The physician informed the parents that he was planning to staple the wound , once my friend the nurse aid had completed her task of cleaning things up.

“ Is that going to hurt him ? ” was the mother’s question.

My bad , I answered her truthfully. “ Yeah , but it will only be 4 pokes. If we stitch it , there will be 8 or more pokes to numb it , and then another 8 or so pokes to sew it up.”

Likely , it was lost when I used the word “ numb ”. At this point I suspect that she stopped listening at the word “ numb ”, and failed to do the math … “ Oh , I don’t want him to hurt ! Can’t you numb him ? ”…

The aid tried her hand. “ Well , yeah , but that will require 8 needle sticks , whereas if the doctor simply staples it , there will only be 4 pokes ”.

Mom had One Thing on her mind. “ I don’t want him to hurt ! ”…

The physician tried. “ Ma’am , nobody wants him to hurt. In fact , if I simply staple the cut closed , he will avoid something like 12 additional punctures , and the discomfort associated with those 12 punctures.”

“ Please , numb him up ! I don’t want him to hurt ! ”…

Resigning ourselves to our fate , I collected the lidocaine , syringe and needle , and my friend the aid swaddled the child in a blanket.

The kid promptly figured out where this was going, and he wanted NO PART of this ride. So , I set up the doctor’s suture set and lido , and joined the rodeo.

The kid screamed , and he flipped , and he flopped , and he writhed , and he twisted , and he turned. He shook his head , so I was detailed to seize his head , and immobilize it. Mom , to her credit , laid across her child’s legs , and dad laid across his torso , so the doctor only had to zig and zag over roughly 30 degrees of motion as he was injecting the local anesthetic into the margins of the wound.

Did you know that lidocaine , injected into your skin , burns ? Yep , burns like a sonuvabitch , for a minute or two. Now , may I watch YOU explain to an 8 year old , that the burning will go away soon , and then things will be numb ? Because , he was not listening to me at all , which , of course , assumes that any earthly creature could distinguish my speech over his screams , and cries , and shrieks , and general high volume protestations. Because , I could not.

So , once the doctor had established that the process was going to be pain free ( because , of course , the anesthesia had been SO ! MUCH ! FUN ! ) , the child was going to lay very still for the suturing ?

Totally ! And , the Democrat candidates for President are not vying to convince the electorate that they , only they , will be the BEST ! At providing free stuff to non citizens , as well as college graduates who find themselves in the food industry.

Of course , no. Just , NO ! More rodeo nursing , more Brahma Bull On the Suture Table.

Finally , at long last , we were done. The aid unwrapped the ( limp )( sweaty )( hoarse voiced ) child from the blanket , and we all stepped away , so Mom could hug the child.

She looked at us all , and said … “ That was awful ! Ohmigawd ! I should have listened to you guys ! ”…

I bit my tongue , and shuffled off to the nursing station , to complete my charting. The aid sat down next to me , and said , “ Hey ! I did my best !”

“ That you did ” I replied. Then , taking on a stereotypical hillbilly voice , I continued. “ Hyuck , hyuck ! Ah’ve bin doin’ this here ‘mergency nursin’ thang for might’ near six , mebe seven weeks now ! Speck’ ah got all figgerred out ! ”…

62% of Democrat primary voters have a college degree. 29% have a postgrad degree.

That’s in contrast to a national average of a third of Americans with college degrees and only around 13% with postgrad degrees.

Those postgrad numbers are very significant.

MA students make up 17% of student loan borrowers , but 38% of student loan debt.

Graduate degree students borrowed $18,120 in one year compared to $5,460 for undergrads. Loan debt hits stratospheric numbers with professional degrees with medical degree debt at $161,772 and law school debt at $140,616. Much of this was due to a rule allowing unlimited grad student borrowing.

Over a third of Dem primary voters earn over $100,000 a year compared to 9% of Americans.

Democrats student loan bailout proposals are heavily tilted to favor their own primary demographic.

The number of grad students is rising as the number of undergrads is dropping. Two MAs are being awarded for every five BAs backed by unlimited borrowing and out of control tuition increases.

But a White House plan to limit the scale of student borrowing ran into Democrat opposition.

Instead Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders have decided to offer a $1.6 trillion bribe to a minority of Americans, but a majority of Democrat primary voters. Warren and Sanders have repeatedly criticized Wall Street bailouts , but their student loan proposals are even more cynical.

The $1.6 trillion giveaway is not an emergency response to an economic crisis. It’s a bailout of irresponsible behavior by an industry and some of its consumers in order to win the primaries.

And here’s a very interesting point …

Loans have gone from being backed by the government to being made directly by the government. When Obama first won his election , there was $140 billion in federal student debt loans. We’re now at approximately $1.2 trillion in federal loans ever since the government all but took over the business …

America’s ‘ progressive ’ lunatic fringe is in a heated contest with itself to see who can make the most outrageous claims of victim-hood and oppression. Such a deranged pastime can only lead to national ruin …

According to the Tempe Officers Association , six members of the local police force were standing together “ having a cup of coffee before their long 4th of July shift ” when they were approached by a barista , who informed the officers that an ordinary customer “ did not feel safe ” because of their presence.

The barista then requested – with the sweetest smile money can buy , no doubt – that the cops “ move out of the customer’s line of sight or leave ” The compliant officers , probably too stunned to formulate a better response , obeyed the request and hastily beat a retreat out the door.

This brief exchange proves the all-American maxim , which says ‘ the customer is always right ’, has been taken to a whole new level of madness. Worse , it demonstrates how easily offended Americans – indoctrinated as they are on a regular basis with political correctness and social justice ideology – have become over the most trivial matters.

What should have occurred – and in fact would have occurred about a decade earlier – is that the Starbucks employee , taken aback by such a strange complaint ( on the Fourth of July , no less ! ) would have consulted with his or her manager on the matter. Then , in all likelihood , the manager would have calmly explained to the distressed customer that the police officers were regular patrons and had every right to be inside the shop , too …

Far more likely , however , is that nobody would have thought to express discomfort about police officers inside of a coffee shop just a few short years ago. But these are brave new days in the United States.

No … What SHOULD have happened was the employee should have gone directly over to the cops and let them know what the asshole said behind their backs and two of the cops should have gone over their and ‘ inquired ‘ as to why he was concerned … Taken their sweet time ‘ investigating ‘ and tying up the asshole Leftard’s entire morning attempting to prove he wasn’t a terrorist !!! … Search him ( or her … Who know’s these days ! ) , if they have a vehicle … Go out in the parking lot a search that … Bonus if there’s a number of things you can pin on ’em !!! …

Starbucks was at the center of another storm of outrage last year , when two black men were kicked out of an outlet in Philadelphia, accused of trespassing. The store manager called the police on the two men for loitering without buying anything , but the ensuing backlash saw protesters descend on the store , and Starbucks close 8,000 stores nationwide for racial sensitivity training … Think of the profits at ONE Starbucks for ONE usual day’s business … I could handle that !!! … Now … Multiply it by 8,000 !!! … All because the blacks . who have a notorious history for being involved with criminal activity due to lousy parenting and blaming ‘ whitey ‘ for all their problems , are ‘ sensitive ‘ to other’s reactions to attitudes and suspicions of possible disruption of business …

Starbucks also threw its bathrooms open to non-customers in the aftermath of the incident , a decision that led to a sharp rise in drug addicts using the bathrooms to shoot up. After numerous employee complaints , the company began installing needle disposal bins in its bathrooms earlier this year.

So a bunch of drug addicts make a mess of Starbucks’ cans and the share holders have to pay for ‘ needle disposal bins ‘ in their bathrooms !!! …

I say , put a camera in there just for bustin’ the assholes and lock ’em up til they’ve had no choice but to painfully ‘ kick the habit ‘… Or , with any luck , kick and scream themselves into a fatal brain aneurysm and the world will have one less useless asshole staggering around the planet surface …

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau swept through Alberta’s two biggest cities on Friday , visiting workers at Edmonton’s Trans Mountain pipeline terminal before swooping into a Calgary diner.

Following his morning stop in Edmonton , Trudeau mingled with people eating lunch at The Beltliner Diner alongside Liberal Calgary Centre MP Kent Hehr.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office , Trudeau had private meetings planned for the rest of the day and didn’t speak to reporters in Calgary. ( On Saturday , Trudeau is scheduled to attend a Stampede reception for Liberal Party donors. ) 

He did , however , spend plenty of time at The Beltliner , where he high-fived kids on the sidewalk and snapped selfies with the lunch crowd.
