Traditionally Lindsey Graham would bury any issue adverse to the institutions of the DC administrative state.  So there’s two possibilities here:  ( A ) Graham has fundamentally changed his outlook toward the dangers of the institutions within government ; or , ( B ) Graham is doing a full ‘ Castellanos ‘ and embracing the controversy in order to control the risk to the administrative state with intent to protect it. [ The latter is tradition ]

The best way for DC to protect itself from the mob’s approach is to lead it themselves. The modern GOPe club has used this defense sending agents to the front of the grassroots anger in order to control the outcome. [ Fast-n-Furious , IRS targeting , Benghazi, etc.]

♦When the common sense Tea Party movement formed in 2009 and 2010 it contained a monumentally frustrated grassroots electorate , and the scale of the movement caught the professional republican party off-guard.

♦When Donald Trump ran for the office of the presidency in 2015 and 2016 he essentially did the same thing; he disrupted the apparatus of the professional republican party.

The difference between those two examples is one was from the bottom up , and the second was from the top down. The commonality in the two forces resulted in the 2016 victory.

It took a few years for the heavily armored old guard of GOP to formulate a plan to retain their control. In the example of the Tea Party , the republican power structures moved in 2011 through 2014 to co-opt the vulgarian movement and impede their disruptive influence. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was at the forefront of those power moves. { Go Deep } and { Go Deep } The basic issue for the GOP was retention of power.

McConnell and crew tamped down the fire. A few years pass and the issues that spurred the Tea Party movement remained unresolved. In 2015 Donald Trump taps in to that exact same Tea Party frustration toward the control authority within one-half of the DC UniParty ; again , the professional republican apparatus was disrupted.

From the first moment candidate Trump announced his platform positions; from the very first poll *after* those platform positions were announced ; Donald Trump was leading the republican field in every-single-poll from August of 2015 through today. Center stage throughout 2015 and 2016 and President of the United States as an outcome therein.

Yes, the “ movement ” rebranded and now MAGA wins the presidency.

A Jewish property millionaire claims he is being discriminated against because of his religious beliefs in a ‘ very acrimonious ‘ divorce from his estranged wife.

The couple , who wed in 1995 and have three children , split up in 2016 after 21 years together.

Alan Moher , 54 , was ordered to hand over a £1.6million lump sum to wife Caroline , 46 , by the Family Court as well as £1,850 per month in maintenance payments until he grants her a ‘ Get ‘ – a document that officially ends a marriage under Jewish law.

But Mr Moher , of Salford , Manchester , claims a Get must be granted ‘ freely ‘ and only when financial ties between a couple are ended , adding the maintenance payments would therefore invalidate the religious divorce.

A Get is a divorce document in Jewish religious law , which must be presented by a husband to his wife to give effect to their divorce.

The text of the Get states ‘ You are hereby permitted to all men ‘, which means that the woman is no longer married and that the laws of adultery no longer apply.

It also returns to the wife the legal rights that a husband holds in regard to her in a Jewish marriage.

Judge Bernard Wallwork , at the Family Court in Manchester , made the financial orders in November last year.

He told Mr Moher , of Salford , that the marriage – and his obligation to pay maintenance – would end in a ‘ clean break ‘ as soon as he presented the Get to his ex , having paid her the lump sum.

But Brent Molyneux QC , for the husband , told the Appeal Court that the wording of Judge Wallwork’s order means any Get presented by the husband would not be accepted as valid by the Jewish religious authorities , leaving him in a no-win situation.

‘ The judge’s order means that , after paying the lump sum in full , the husband is obliged to continue to pay spousal periodical payments to the wife in the sum of £1,850 per month – until he gives her a Get.’

‘ It is something which has to be given freely , after financial ties between the parties have come to an end ‘…

Mr Molyneux also insisted the £1.6million payout was unfair on the husband.

He said : ‘ The identifiable assets were £1.875 million , less the husband’s debts. The wife received just over £1.6m ‘…

The judge : ‘ The husband was a single man , living alone in Manchester , with undoubted intelligence and business skills , who was financially adept ‘…

‘ The wife had three dependent children , could not rely upon the husband to support her or the children and had relatively slim earning capacity ‘…

So , because she’s otherwise useless ! … And lucked out marrying a guy with big bucks … HE has to keep payin’ her way … Instead of just looking after HIS end of the JOINT responsibility and cost for his children .. THE TWO’s CHILDREN !!! …

The PM has been called out by powerhouse lawyer Marie Henein over his fake feminism, the Norman trial blew up in his face and in the media and the auditor general issued a report showing his government failed to properly handle the border crisis.

I’m only scratching the surface because I’ll be open and frank, I was away all last week trying not to pay attention to news here in Canada.

Yet, despite my best efforts to devote my full attention on beautiful cities and medieval castles in places like Waterford and Kilkenny over in Ireland, the news punched through.

I was able to ignore — at first — the auditor general’s report on the processing of asylum claims where interim auditor Sylvain Ricard pointed out the massive delays in the system due to poor government management.

“People seeking asylum in Canada wait about two years for decisions from a rigid system that can’t adjust to volume spikes,” the report stated.

And we all know there have been spikes over the past three years, including more than 40,000 people that have flooded the system by using an illegal border crossing from the United States.

Throughout that time, the PM has assured the whole country there was no impact on the system, that the system was working as it should. So why then are people waiting 2 years for a decision instead of the requirement that most cases be heard within 60 days?

That delay isn’t fair to anyone — the asylum claimant that lives in limbo or the taxpayers of Canada that have pumped billions extra into a system that isn’t working properly.

Did I tell you that the report revealed that departments involved in this mess are still relying on paper documents and faxing each other?

“Even when claim information was available electronically, it was printed out and shared between organizations by fax or courier,” the report said.

Anyone want to check their calendar? It is 2019 …

… Then there is the Norman trial.

Try as I did to pay attention to the Norman castles in Ireland, the Norman trial back home was blowing up my phone.

Texts, e-mails, direct messages.

People were contacting me about the explosive news that the government dropped the charges against Vice-Admiral Mark Norman on breach of trust.

Norman’s lawyer, Marie Henein, said the decision to drop the charges was not political and was made by the independent prosecutor. I’ll take her at her word but we can’t come to any other conclusion than this was a politically-motivated trial from the start.

Henein herself had claimed that in court, documents released to the court showed the Privy Council Office coordinating trial strategy with prosecutors.

And, of course, this all started when former clerk of the Privy Council Michael Wernick wrote a 60-page memo to the PM on Norman which eventually led to the PCO calling the RCMP and asking them to investigate.

You may remember Wernick from such scandals as SNC-Lavalin where he asked former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould to take over the prosecution of SNC so they could get their sweetheart deal and avoid conviction.

Yes, that same guy, that same Trudeau team.

There is no doubt this started in politics.

Perhaps as Henein says, the prosecutors didn’t let politics enter their decision to drop the case and let Norman go free, maybe it was just new information presented by the defence.

In that case, Henein was absolutely right when she uttered this cutting line to the media on Wednesday.

“Fortunately vice-admiral Norman didn’t fire the females he hired.”

This could be a good summer watchin’ the demise of the Lefties up here come November … Have a Christmas break … And then crack open another party size tin of beer nuts , stock up the fridge with cold ones … And watch all  the Lefty swamp critters down south get marched single file into the slammer for treason !!! …

” We really need to separate out Facebook from Instagram , WhatsApp [ companies Facebook owns ] , and ensure that there is market-based accountability , so that users have real choice and don’t have to use a social media system that relies on manipulation and exploitation of deeply private information to connect with others online ” she told The Current’s guest host Gillian Findlay.

In an opinion piece published Thursday in the New York Times , Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes wrote that he wants to see the social network break up.

In a country with ” a tradition of reining in monopolies ” the power of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is ” un-American ” Hughes said.

He co-founded Facebook in 2004 at Harvard University with Zuckerberg and Dustin Moskovitz. Hughes quit Facebook in 2007 and later said in a LinkedIn post that he made $500 million for his three years of work.
