‘ Reporters ‘ need to get back to ‘ reporting ‘ … For crissakes stop tryin’ to think !!! ..

There’s too many people that are simply , absolutely , not qualified or intelligent enough to warrant their employment in their chosen profession …

Martin Patriquin from The Walrus for example …

Much of his article was ‘ reasonable ‘ … But he invariably puts his foot in it this totally unrelated and incorrectly concluded comparison … Certainly does not constitute a ‘ truism ‘…

Another political truism : beware of partisan histrionics. For all that Andrew Scheer and his Tory colleagues have been relentless in their criticisms of Trudeau on this file , coming to the legal or financial aid of politically important corporations is old , bipartisan hat in this country.

Yes , that can be considered a ‘ truism ‘… However … The following is NOT an example …

Consider that , in 2009 , Stephen Harper’s Conservative government lent a total of $13.7 billion to General Motors and Fiat Chrysler as part of a bailout to save the two companies and thousands of Canadian jobs. Yes … He ‘ lent it ‘ … And that IS strictly being concerned about the number of jobs at risk … It was NOT specific to one province … It was not in coordination with upcoming elections … Foreign owned entities don’t vote in elections … And most importantly , those two companies were never in the courts facing criminal charges … And Harper and his PMO weren’t running around trying to influence , then hide those attempts , the court’s involvement …

Then he goes on to say …

Last year , the government wrote off $2.6 billion related to its loan to Fiat Chrysler and , about a decade after taxpayer dollars kept it afloat through a protracted economic downturn , GM announced it was closing its headquarters in Oshawa , eliminating about 2,500 jobs.

Look at the date Marty !!! … That’s Junior again !!! … If I were PM I’d have my Billy Boy from Finance in their faces for some payments !!! …

Supporting snc-Lavalin is a sure bet by comparison : the company is proudly , almost stubbornly , mated to Quebec , and its employees aren’t beholden to the whims of some foreign-owned conglomerate.

No , they’re ‘ beholden ‘ to their own , self pocket lining , conglomerate …
