11:01 A.M. Scots opt for the best of both worlds … Just like KBek !!! …

AppalliticsHeaderWhile the idea of an independent Scotland still has its supporters , the costs and complexities of actually achieving independence … Whether Scots could use the pound or the euro , establishing borders , determining the fate of military bases and the NHS , negotiating membership in the EU , bargaining over Scotland’s share of the national debt  … Far outweighed the meagre economic benefits , if any , of independence … At the end of the day , Scots are a proud , but pragmatic , people , who could plainly see that the purported benefits of independence more control over tax revenues :   North Sea oil, social services and health care system were much less than the prohibitive costs of achieving them …

Like a majority of Quebecois , most Scots recognize that they have the best of both worlds : a distinct society , with its own history , culture and traditions and considerable political and economic autonomy , without the costs of maintaining a nation state …

*MORB TRANSLATION ; Without having to PAY for it !!! …

Of course , there are historic grievances and grudges … The Scots are notoriously perhaps stereotypically clannish , stubborn and inclined neither to forgive nor forget old feuds and wounds … But Scots also recognize a good bargain when they see one …

*MORB INTERJECTION ; As do KBec’rs !!! …

… And union with England , Wales and Northern Ireland is just that … Canny Scots know that belonging to a political partnership of 60 million people provides more real sovereignty , that is , political power and economic clout , than an independent country of five million ever could …

And we keep putting up with it !!! …
